Program Objectives
and Requirements
|
The school of Architecture and Civil
Engineering covers three first-level disciplines of Architecture, Civil
Engineering and Urban Planning. The keynotes of school are to adhere to the
coordinated development of knowledge, ability and quality base on the need
for national construction, and to cultivate the people who has solid
foundation, wide knowledge, good quality, and strong ability.
The discipline of Architecture requires to master the basic theories,
basic knowledges, and basic design methods. It also requires to training the
people how to get professional quality, practical ability, international
field of vision, and innovative spirit. The discipline of Civil Engineering
requires to cultivate the people who gains the basic training of engineering
and has basic theories, basic knowledges, and basic professional quality. The
discipline of Urban Planning requires to master the professional skills which
as design, manager and research, and cultivate the people who will do well in
the field of urban planning, transportation and municipal engineering, land
use planning and so on.

Instructions for
Course Selection
|
The school of Architecture and Civil
Engineering covers three first-level disciplines of Architecture (5 years),
Civil Engineering (4 years) and Urban Planning (5 years). Students will
graduate as they complete all 182 credits which are prescribed. Compulsory
courses contain 11-12 public basic courses (29-31 credits), 4 general
education courses (14 credits) and 15 academic courses (38 credits). The
grade one students will learn all three disciplines’ basic courses together
to find out their learning interests. At the beginning of grade two, as based
on their wills and scores, students will be divided into three parts to learn
different disciplines.
The major courses of discipline of
Architecture contains 13 major required courses (28 credits), 16 limiting
optional courses (40 credits) and 5 optional credits courses. In other parts
of learning, students must complete all 10 practice courses which contain 28
credits. Students also can choose innovative entrepreneurial training or
social practice which contain 2 credits and finish these by write paper or
pass the exam. During the short term, grades 1-3 will provide experiment and
design courses in first 2 weeks, and provide practice opportunities in
remaining weeks. Grade 4 students will do the practice jobs in the design
institutes. Intramural and external-campus Experts will also be invited to
give lectures non-scheduled during the short term.
