Program Objectives
|
To develop talents for architecture design, who are
with the good theoretical attainment of architecture theories, can master the
techniques of architecture design, can undertake the tasks of building
designs and have the ability to carry out certain research.
|
Requirements of Research Ability and Other Aspects
|
Students can collect research information by
themselves and conduct analyses, summarizations and estimation for certain
research topics. They also can carry out research projects individually and
master relevant software.
Master Degree applicants should meet one of the
following requirements:
Publish more than one paper in the professional
academic conference at or above provincial level or participate in the
professional academic conference with the invitation of paper presentation
(the first unit is Xiamen University and the applicant is the first author;
if the first author is the adviser while the second is the applicant, the
applicant can be regarded as the first one);
Have more than one awarded work (first, second,
third prize and honorable mention) in architecture design contest at or above
provincial level;
3. Publish more than one paper in professional journals with the CN issue (the first
unit is Xiamen University and the applicant is the first author; if the first
author is the adviser while the second is the applicant, the applicant can be
regarded as the first one)

academic reports at least 20 times during the period of study, 1 credit.

At the beginning of the fifth semester masters must
submit the record of academic lectures or academic reports, and they can get
1 credit after the record is approved by their supervisors.

Mid-term Assessment

Main contents of mid-term examination include the
stage results, the problems facing and work plan of the thesis research.
Masters can get 1 credit when they pass the mid-term examination.
|
At the end of fourth semester masters should present
the mid-term examination PPT to supervisors group and submit the mid-term
examination forms to administration office.

Literature Review and Research Report

Thesis Proposal

Main contents of thesis proposal include the
purpose, the significance, the problems facing, the research status and the
main content of the thesis research. Masters can get 1 credit when they pass
the thesis proposal examination.

At the end of third semester masters should present
the thesis proposals PPT to supervisors group and submit the thesis proposal
forms to administration office.

Social Practice

Masters must take internships (no less than two
months) in design institutes. Masters can get 1 credit if their performance
is qualified.
|
At the beginning of the fifth semester masters
should submit their achievements during internship and internship reports
that approved by the internship units and supervisors.
|
Teaching Practice
|

|
To meet the needs of teaching, masters are
encouraged to participate in the teaching practice.
|
|
Inter-Campus Communication and Exchange
|
|
|
Encourage masters to attend at least an off-campus
academic meeting.
|
|
Thesis
|
Students’ theses
must reach certain academic level, which can show that the students have
understand related theories very well, and can discover, analyze and solve
research questions. Meanwhile, there are some innovations in research
methodologies and conclusions.
