The Building Material and Construction Laboratory,
belonging to the Teaching Experiment Centre of the school of Architecture and
Civil Engineering , was established in 2007. The laboratory serves as teaching
aids of the Architectural Construction courses , as well as the courses of
Building Material and Architectural Design.
There are now 3 faculties in the Building
Material and Construction Laboratory, including 1 professional teacher and 2
technicians. The floor area of the laboratory is 50㎡. The
laboratory offers real objects and models of architectural constructions and
samples of new architectural decoration materials for students to visit and
learn. The aim of the laboratory is to enhance the intuitive feeling of
students towards the details of architectural constructions, as well as to
arouse the interest in the course of Architectural Construction and Building
Material. There are now 10 detailed construction models, and 16 building
material sample groups which include more than 300 pieces of models in the
laboratory.
Besides, the laboratory is also playing a
supporting role in the relevant teaching system, such as visiting construction
sites and building material supermarkets, and mentoring the relevant design
courses.
